About Us

Rabita Islamic News Agency (RINA) is a registered Islamic media organization with its own office in Delhi and necessary resources for dissemination and publication of news. Meanwhile, its efforts to procure more resources are going on. The Agency aims at assisting in promoting the cause of the Islamic Ummah in the field of Journalism on the basis of service to humanity, Islamic media, Islamic brotherhood and religious cooperation. The Agency gives particular importance to the procurement and distribution of such news that are helpful in one way or the other in serving the humanity or presenting a viewpoint or event in its real perspective. The Agency also boldly criticizes such thoughts and acts that bring a total or partial negative impact on the interest of humanity. The Agency, through its Urdu, Arabic and English services, performs the task of offering free and paid news service. The purpose of the Agency’s paid services is to make it self reliant.

Out of India’s one billion population Muslims constitute the second biggest majority. In this country, there are thousands of religious institutions, Muslim groups, organizations, associations, universities and Islamic academies founded as a result of the sacrifices made and services rendered by our ancestors and great personalities. All of them are engaged in a wide range of religious, educational, cultural and political activities. Our national or international news agencies seldom publicize their efforts. Consequently, their opponent agencies get an opportunity to create misunderstandings about them and mislead the masses. In such a situation it was the need of the hour that a company consisting of Muslim entrepreneurs inspired by the divine message ‘among you there must be a community that invites people to good’, founded an independent and strong Islamic news agency that could present a real picture to the world. However, as in other important spheres, Muslims could not respond positively to this need.

It is a unique feature of at least recent history of Islam in India that the great deeds have been accomplished by either a single person or group of devoted and sincere people with no or very modest resources. For example, there were formidable educational and reformist movements and institutions that came up in the second half of the nineteenth century. Encouraged by this very encouraging fact of history, the Rabita Islamic News Agency (RINA) has been founded on a limited scale after completing the required legal procedures. We hope that the Agency will get the support and patronage of Islamic organizations, groups, associations, institutions and the masses in general and that, Allah willing, it will be able to serve them very soon.
